I'm always hearing about chefs doing pop-up restaurants in cities like New york, so I was thrilled to find out that local Port Townsend, WA baker Kellen Lynch (Dalla Notte Baking at the Port Townsend farmer's market), and Chef Luci Bockelie were putting on one here in town.

The one night only pop-up featuring South American cuisine was called Concina de Playa, and took place this past Thursday at the Kitchen Station located by the beach at Fort Worden. Talk about beautiful views out the window!  I'm guesstimating around 50+ people were in attendance including myself and my husband Josh.

The menu featured fresh, local ingredients including pork from Moonlight Farm (which may also be found on Saturdays at the Port Townsend Farmer's Market).  Two types of sangria were served along with my favorite, house made Horchata, topped with cinnamon.  So good...possibly 3 glasses good, but who's counting? (Don't judge me...lol).

The evening ended with both Kellen's tres leches cake with fresh mango and strawberries, along with a long round of applause from the attendees.  The possibility of another pop-up restaurant in the future with a different cuisine theme was mentioned followed by more applause.

I truly hope they do host another one of these events, for what a fantastic way to keep the food scene here in Port Townsend fresh!
